“We have been working on renovating Rennes station for four years. And it is a great success. There have been some difficult moments but it has been very rewarding to work with the project team on such a project, especially managing to maintain a safe balance between traffic and the works.
As Stations Director for the Brittany region since 2017, I am responsible for the cleanliness, security, ensuring equipment and services are working correctly and also passenger information at 126 stations, including 10 that welcome more than 250,000 passengers per year. As well as being a station manager for the Rennes site, I work with a team of 15 experts on fire safety, construction safety, site management, customer experience, safety, etc. At the main stations that I manage I am supported by TER local managers who also fulfil the role of station manager.
When I joined SNCF, I found the company was completely different from what I imagined. Opening up on the internet and the company’s commercial strategy ended up convincing me. In 18 years I have been Local Sales Manager in Vannes, Sales Coordinator in Rennes, Liaison between different business lines for the Brittany and Pays de la Loire regions, Regional HR Representative at the Agence Gares Centre-Ouest for the Brittany, Pays de la Loire and Centre Val de Loire regions, Institutional Relations and Communication Manager for the Agence Gare in Rennes and then today Stations Director for the Brittany region. After spending years working in management structures, I wanted to return to operations. My work is very complex and varied. Between the opening of a new business, a safety issue to resolve with a local authority or the opening of a cultural exhibition, no two days are the same. And my field of action is going to be extended further with new missions entrusted directly to Stations Directors at the beginning of 2020, namely platform management and passenger information. ”
