Ever since it was formed, SNCF Gares & Connexions has been committed to dealing with the issue of exclusion at stations with the help of specialist associations, local authorities and public bodies. Furthermore, we have been working for over ten years to promote social inclusion and professional reinclusion, particularly on our work sites. Finally, we regularly run information campaigns at stations on behalf of associations.
Sustainable Development
SNCF Gares & Connexions is committed to building and renovating buildings that have good environmental and energy performance, and making the multimodal interchanges one of the key bricks in the sustainable town. Bioclimatic design, use of renewable and recyclable materials, introduction of greenery to surfaces, green energy production and selection of effective equipment: the design of stations responds to current concerns about reducing greenhouse gas emissions, respecting the environment and biodiversity.
Commitment charter to regulate luminous advertising
All of the transport companies including SNCF Gares & Connexions have signed the "Commitment charter for management of stations, stops and airports as well as advertising sales agencies regarding energy conservation". By 2031 the modernisation of luminous advertising screens will reduce total electricity consumption by 71%. This is a new commitment to limit our energy impact by switching off equipment at night when the stations are closed.
