Since 22nd June 2020, Montigny-sur-Loing station has offered a new service to village residents and hikers in the Loing Valley and Fontainebleau forest. ‘Le Local’ is both a local store and a place for mutual assistance and is seeking to establish itself as a key part of the station and local life. This project is part of SNCF Gares & Connexions’ ‘1001 stations’ programme, which matches available spaces at stations with project managers. It comes from a desire, shared with Île-de-France Mobilités, to revitalise the stations of the Greater Paris area in Île-de-France.
