1001 Stations

The ‘1001 Stations’ programme mainly concerns small stations where there are currently no commercial businesses. It is for regional businesses and aims to bring their projects and initiatives to fruition that may need premises which SNCF would provide with favourable economic conditions. This initiative helps to firmly root activities and services, commercial or non-commercial, in the nearby area, increase the opportunities along the passenger’s way by reducing the need to travel and dependence on the car, and finally to give a boost to the districts around stations and, by extension, town centres.

Design Thinking and InnovaXions Challenges

The Design Thinking Challenge, based on a new and agile working methodology, aims to encourage our employees to work as a team on subjects of their choosing. Each team can prototype new services or products for stations. The idea is to deploy concepts arising from these challenges quickly and on an industrial scale. Another initiative that we are running internally is the InnovaXions Challenge that involves developing entrepreneurial skills within SNCF Gares & Connexions and innovative concepts.
